School Led Placements

Our ‘School Led PGCE with QTS’ courses are our most popular route into teaching, and will provide you with the best support in both school and university so that you can become an excellent, fully qualified teacher after a 1 year (full -time) period.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AT A GLANCE

  • Fee paying, 1-year PGCE with QTS.
  • Specialise in Primary (ages 3-7 or ages 7-11) or a range of Secondary Subjects (ages 11-18).
  • DFE Apply – YOU choose your delivery partner (The Castle Phoenix Alliance).
  • Entry requirements: minimum 2.2 degree, grade 4/C in English, Maths (and Science for Primary).
  • The Castle Phoenix Alliance offers additional support and guidance including Intensive Training and Practice Sessions (ITaPs); organising your second placement (with your requests considered); and recruitment once you have qualified.

HOW TO APPLY

We accept applications through the governments ‘DfE Apply’ service.

 

Introduced in 2020 to replace UCAS Teacher Training (UTT), the new DfE Apply portal aims to simplify the application process and provide you with an improved, central service for getting into teaching.
